Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Biochar copper adsorption research. Chemists testing the properties of biochar, a form of charcoal (mostly carbon) produced by heating organic matter in the absence of oxygen. The column at lower left has been filled with poultry litter-based activated biochar. A solution of copper ions (blue) is being run through the biochar. The solution turns clear (sample held up at top right) as the copper ions are absorbed by the biochar. This research is being carried out by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of the US Department of Agriculture. Photographed in the USA.
