This painting is titled Blooms. It is a folk style representing the Day of the Dead artwork. I drew the art in pencil and then used alcohol based ink to paint in the vivid colors. I like working with the alcohol base ink for their blending capabilities. I also used some water based and India ink based pens to provide additional highlights to the artwork. . . . . . . . . . . I have been drawing, painting, and crafting since I was a child. Living in Oregon where God provided color everywhere you look, along with rainy days to encourage a lot of indoor activites, I spent hours painting and drawing. Now that I have entered the empty-nester stage of life, I am blessed with additional time to focus on art.
