Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Artist's Description

Stately homes and American elms line the village streets. Blue Hill was one of the David Marsh townships granted in 1762 to the veterans of the last war against the French. The first comers to the area were Joseph Wood and John Roundy from Andover, Massachusetts, who built homes on Mill Island at the tidal falls (Blue Hills Falls). Other settlers joined them, and in this neighborhood were the first mill and schoolhouse. The area was first known as North Andover, then as New Port, and in 1789 the town charter established its name as Blue Hill now a center for the arts and music, and the gateway to the Penobscot Peninsula communities and the Deer Isles.

About ErnestineGrindal SaraClarke

ErnestineGrindal SaraClarke

Ernestine Grindal is the creation of Sally Clarke in memory of her late mother, whose real name it was, and whose spirit has been a driving force in her art and never wanted to saddle a child with such a name as Ernestine! "Let's just give her a 'regular name' like Sally or Sara!" Sally grew up near New York City and has been drawing since she realized that crayons didn't taste very good and must have another purpose. She moved into Balsam Lane Studio, Blue Hill, Maine in 2001. Ernestine's Easel was added in 2007 as the the greeting card division of this small art studio. In April of 2013 Balsam Lane Studio moved to the village of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Sally studied at Syracuse University, Lewis & Clark College and...
