Congratulations on your sale, Larry:)!

great work! Congratulations!

Congratulations on the sale of your art work.

Congrats on your sale!!!

Incredible art. The original Fuddy Duddy of the 447th Bomb Group was lost in a mid-air collision with another B-17 over Mannheim, Germany. My uncle, Andrew Struke, was a B-17 tail gunner. He survived his missions, but of the 135,000 or so American airmen who flew over Europe in WWII, about 30,000 were killed. Nearly 13,000 B-17s were built; roughly 50 still exist with only a dozen that are flyable. This striking portrait helps memorialize all B-17s and their crews.

I love this image. My Grandad flew those in WWII and there were models and pictures of them all over his house that i used to stare at as a kid. Pictures like this are sentimental to me, even when i see them for the first time, and this one seems to capture that sense of spirit that i remember so well in him when he'd talk about those old planes. thank you for sharing it. awesome work.

Hi Larry! I wanted to compliment you on this one! I saw it first hand at the OC Fair today and congratulations for your BLUE RIBBON! This B-17 of yours hanging in the Visual Arts Gallery amongst so many wonderful works of art in so many different medias has inspired me to try a bit harder with my digital works. I may enter one of mine next year. I must say it looks very nice on the web, but in person it is astonishing. Great Job again!

I remember this old girl when she was Tanker 89 with Globe Air Service. A real treasure this one is! Great Job!

Absolutely amazing!!

Okay did an online search which yielded .this name attached to a flying fortress & I know what that is. ;-)

Okay this is fine!!! But heck I never heard of a Fuddy Duddy? Please somebody enlighten me....;-)

Artist's Description

It is very difficult to create large sized highly detailed images with good color saturation. In order to achieve these dramatic photo realistic aviation images I have developed a creative technique that uses both photographic and illustration skills....the only constraint is the mind. To see how I achieve this please go to http://www.larrymcmanus.com and click on technique.

About Larry McManus

Larry McManus

While shooting aircraft over the years, I came to the realization that shooting air to air and getting the right angle, the right background and the most detail in the aircraft consistently was impossible. So, calling on my skills as a designer, I created a photo illustration technique that allows me to create beautiful large format detailed aircraft images just the way I envision them. I have won major awards for my designs, art and photography throughout my career and have sold my work all over the world. My studio is located in Colorado Springs. I take great pride in the execution, creative process and quality of all my work.
