Bridalveil falls is usually the first major waterfall that most visitors see as they enter Yosemite Valley. A very common image of this fall is taken from the Tunnel View parking lot up on highway 41 coming from Wiwona Village. I have a number of images captured from Tunnel View as it's a very beautiful overlook.
This particular image was taken from across the Merced River during the spring time. As can be seen in this image the mist from the falls is very strong and at this time of year almost impossible to enjoy a close view of the falls without getting completely soaked.
As mentioned before, Bridalveil falls is considered on of the major Yosemite waterfalls with a height of over 800 feet from top to bottom. The primary source of the water that flows over Bridalveil is Ostrander lake roughly 10 miles to the south of the falls.
