Description

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Love this parachuting bike painting and it's subtle colours, as though it's coming down out of the sky. Brilliant !

Artist's Description

I recently rebuilt this old BSA bike for my mate George, his dad used to let him ride it as a child, he put blocks of wood on the pedals to make it more comfortable, it was the coolest bike on the street. This type of bike was used by paratroopers in Arnhem and the D Day landings, attached to a parachute by its wheels it folds neatly in half. It was great to get this 70 year old bike back on the road, I have painted every spoke and chain rivet and in the background are stylised parachutes, a paratrooper badge and BSA chain ring. A unique and exclusive, lovingly crafted still life painting of a vintage military bicycle. I have painted it in beautiful lustrous colours to enhance the bold geometric patterns and fine detail. The sides of the canvas are not painted though it can be hung directly on the wall with or without a frame. It is signed front bottom right and on the back. I am a keen cyclist, who lovingly restores bicycles and then records them for posterity by producing fine canv...

Born in Chester 1960, studied BA Fine Art (Sculpture) at Loughborough College of Art and Design and an MA in Art & Design (Painting) at Leeds Metropolitan University. First worked as a mechanic for London Bicycle Company and then as a ceramic technician for David Hilton Tableware in London for seven years, before becoming a 3D Design and Sculpture lecturer Oldham College, Greater Manchester. Moved to Hampshire to become Head of Art and Design at Itchen Sixth Form College, Southampton and now Head of Art and Design at Peter Symonds College, Winchester.
