Artist's Description
"Buffalo"
A herd of bison thunders over a over a hill kicking up sprays of dirt and snow. As they charge towards you, the steam from their breath merges with the layer of mist that blankets the wintry ground. Behind them, great snow covered mountains loom above an evergreen forest, their peaks jutting into the air where huge clouds roll across the sky.
The bison, or American buffalo, has always been one of my most favorite subjects for Western art. Most of my recent buffalo themed works have tended towards more photo-realism, but for this I wanted to return to a more the look of a painting. As for the title, I realized that, though I have quite a few buffalo themed works, I didn't have one with the simple title of "Buffalo". So I went with that.
