This was a photo I took about 2 years, ago, and have had more comments and visits than any other I have taken. A special friend, who is a member of our Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group, wanted to Paint this iris for me, and surely I was very well pleased with the result. I entered the photo of the burgundy iris in the Group Owners Contest, but am show this one off, which was photographed my me , but enhanced to this beauty by John Kolenberg, a fine artist of our Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group. Also thanks to my splendid group, I received enough votes in the Administrators or Group Owners contest to place a 2nd place on this one and a 1st Place on my Reflective Infusion entry, which was published in an international hardcover photo book, and Featured on front page of the book. Needless to say, I am happier than a frog sitting in a pond of delectable delights! Thanks Again for the great support Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery members! Much appreciated!

As a retired teacher, having taught for 35 years, I spend a lot of time in our many flower gardens, with water features, metal sculptures, and many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs. My wife gave me a digital camera for a Christmas present a few years ago, and I started taking photos of the many types of flora and fauna on our property. This became an enjoyable hobby for me, to enjoy the outdoors, and capture some of the beautiful photo opportunities that our gardens have provided. I especially love close-ups of flowers and insects, and basically anything that has something unique to capture on film.
