Artist's Description

They tore down the old train station in the 1970's. We found an old black and white snapshot that resulted in this more colorful rendition. Today the site of the station is a small platform backed by a large parking lot right at Linden Avenue. More people want a print of this than most anything else I have done.

Ray Cole

Almost every watercolor was completed in my studio in Carpinteria, California. Due to some physical limitations I most often work from photographs I have taken, and some that are brought to me by others. I just donít do very well painting on location. Almost all the work represented here was completed in the last eighteen years. My serious study of watercolor only began when I retired from Sunkist Growers in 1995. Happily most items were well received, and so only a few original paintings remain available. All together I have selected some 120 items from my most recent work to offer here for your pleasure. Recently we published a coffee table book titles "The Delights of Carpinteria" featuring my works that depict scenes...
