Love the framed prints. I bought 6 - 20 x 25 and later a 37 x 53 to complete by basement renovation project. I didn't expect the glass to be plexiglass since I didn't notice that as an option when I was purchasing. But that turned out to be a good, safe option for my application. And you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at them. Very happy with the product.

My father has always loved the eastern Sierra Nevada -- particularly the area around Lone Pine and Mt. Whitney. He loves the photo and has hung it on the wall pride, surrounded by mountain climbing paraphernalia. It's a definite hit!
Artist's Description
The story of Cassandra is one of the very saddest tales of Greek mythology. Cassandra was princess of the legendary city of Troy, the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba. The god Apollo lusted after the beautiful young mortal woman and intended to make her his own. To convince her to give into his advances, he promised to bestow upon her the gift of prophecy.
Apollo took Cassandra under his wing and taught her how to use her prophecies. Once her mentorship was finished, however, Cassandra refused to give her body to Apollo as promised.
Furious at being rejected by a mere mortal Apollo decided to punish her. While he couldn't take back the gift he'd already given, he could alter it. After having his way with Cassandra he laid a terrible curse upon her. While Cassandra would still be able to foresee the future, the curse ensured that no one would believe her. Worse than that, they would believe that she was purposely telling lies.
Thus, Cassandra was able to foresee t...

Powerful fauvistic expressionistic piece! The style is a perfect match for a savagery and sorrow pervaded story such as Cassandra's! Her body but especially facial features are so loosely delineated that the viewer immediately feels, even without being familiar with this myth or reading about it now, that the painting is a portrait of a woman loosing Herself...
