Such a beautiful meeting of seasons, Lois! Brilliant autumn leaves on some trees and early snow in others.

Lois Bryan replied:

Ann, thank you so much ... it happens every once in awhile ... maybe tonight we'll have snow on the autumn leaves ... actually in this image, the trees are covered in snow and ice!!!!

This is a lovely scene, beautifully captured and presented. May I ask, what exactly is digital art as compared to regular digital photography? I'm still learning LOL Thank you

Lois Bryan replied:

Hi Michael, that's a very good question and one that has a LOT of different answers, depending on who you're talking to. (To whom you are talking??) To me, digital art, as opposed to straight photography, is an image that has been heavily altered in image editing programs. An image can be put into Photoshop and had some minor adjustments for tone or sharpening, for example ... and personally, I don't think that kind of thing counts. But when I really get going on an image, adding other elements like textures or birds from another one of my shots ... or significantly altering the "look" ... to me, that's getting into the digital art world, as opposed to straight photography. There can sometimes be a very fine line. Digital art also expands into images that are created totally on the computer ... not based on photography at all. But as I said earlier, ask someone else, and you'll very likely get a different answer. Hope that helped ... rather than confused????

I had to come check out your gallery again Lois. This is yet another stunning landscape shot - absolutely beautiful!

Lois Bryan replied:

Jim ... thank you ... you know how much in love with your work I am ... your kind note means the world.

absolutely beautiful!!!

Lois Bryan replied:

Thanks, Tara!!

It won't be long before we get the white stuff this year. Lovely shot Lois.

Lois Bryan replied:

Hi Al .. so true!!! I was up there about 3 weeks ago and we had about 3 - 4 inches of snow ... and it was still snowing when we left!!!! It was glorious!!!!

ohhh this is so pretty . .beautiful job !

Lois Bryan replied:

Thanks, Elaine!!!

“Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” ~ Roald Dahl ~ Welcome to Lois Bryan Photography and Digital Art. I'm a photographer / photography-based digital artist living in the mid-Atlantic area of the US. My images are based on the photos I capture, mostly with Nikon cameras and lenses. Although my goal will always be to catch that perfect shot straight out of the camera, I also love exploring the artistic and creative process as I work with Photoshop and other image editing programs. Still experimenting, still loving every minute behind the camera and still believing in the magic.  Be sure to follow my latest photographic and artistic doings and musings on my blog.
