This is a sign from Chinatown that I took New Years Eve 2013.
About Christopher Winkler
A self taught artist who's vision of twisted realism peers straight through to the deepest depths of your soul. The only thing constant about my work is change. I started painting in the winter of 1985-86, after meeting a group of artists in Phoenix, Arizona that previous summer. I figured if they could do it, so could I. Those artists became my friends and gave me some art supplies for my birthday. I was heavily influenced by the COBRA group that was around in Europe after WWII, Dada, the Surrealists, as well as Bacon, DeKooning, and Schwitter. I started very loose as my early works show, and now enjoy the challenge of painting with more detail. Most of the time when I draw or paint, I usually do not have a per-conceived idea...
