Dave Bowman replied:

Thanks Alanna!

From 1939 the MG was my all time favorite, especially the MG all the time in the army, wanted one, but being overseas was unable to have a car. Then married and had 5 children in 5 years, so could not even consider having one. Closet to it was when working with a friend who had an MG and let me drive it through the curves in mountains around Ridgefield CT a couple of times a week....

Dave Bowman replied:

The classic MG's of my youth were great cars. At the time, if I'd had the funds (and a driving license), I may have bought one. These days I think the maintenance alone would be enough to put me off :)

now thats love,goodj job Daveid

:: a classic beauty ::

Artist's Description

An MG badge on the front grill of a classic car ..... The MG Car Company Limited was a former British sports car manufacturer founded in the 1920s by Cecil Kimber. Best known for its two-seat open sports cars, MG also produced saloons and coupes. Kimber was an employee of William Morris; MG is from Morris Garages. The MG business was Morris's personal property until 1935 when he sold MG into his holding company, Morris Motors Limited, restructuring his holdings before issuing shares in Morris Motors to the public in 1936. ..... The original MG marque was in continuous use (barring the years of the Second World War) for 56 years after its inception. Production of predominantly two-seater sports cars was concentrated at a factory in Abingdon, some 10 miles south of Oxford. In the autumn of 1980, however, the Abingdon factory closed and MGB production ceased. ..... Between 1982 and 1991, the MG marque was revived on sportier versions of Austin Rover's Metro, Maestro and Montego ranges. Af...

About Dave Bowman

Dave Bowman

As a photographer I like to be on the move, physically and technically, trying out new approaches and discovering new paths. I believe artists should continually challenge themselves and experiment in order to progress creatively and to keep ideas fresh and vital. My primary aim is to capture the essential quality of the experience before me at the very moment the shutter closes. I then allow the subject to dictate the precise levels of tone or colour required for the final image. These decisions are key to my creative process and something I find continually challenging and inspiring. Dave Bowman Photography
