Come Sit and Stay. This is one of my favorite images that I've ever taken and once you know the backstory behind this you might just understand the mood and why I like it so much.
With much anticipation my family and I headed out to the ocean for a long weekend camping over the Independence Day Holiday. Mid-summer at the beach, we're thinking warm weather, sunny days at the beach. It couldn't have been any colder all weekend long.
We left Vacaville with temps in the mid 90's. By the time we got to the beach they were barely pushing 60. We set up camp and hoped that the sun would break through. It's a good thing that we sent the children out for firewood because it never warmed up all day.
Night fell and as the evening wore on we let the fire die and prepared our bedding in the tents.
Asleep in the night for a couple of hours and I awake to the winds blowing on the tent. The noise from the winds blowing on the tent increased as did the wind when I realized I was not going...
