Artist's Description

This is part of a "Native Stone" series of paintings. The stones are of the type that may be found just about anywhere we walk, showing great variety of form and suggesting a varied history as well. No matter how closely I look, or how carefully I paint, I can never exhuast the visible reality of even one of these stones. That is part of the pleasure.
