A masterpiece done by a master He is such a wonderful artist I love this piece

You should call this "Best seat on the house", reminds me of being out in the country and how awe inspiring and calming it was to watch a storm roll on by. Very cool. Is that you up there?

Stunning--wish I had painted it!

its very nice color effects ... Love this painting.

This is really nice Kevin, very down home feeling, something about sitting on a roof with a storm rolling in is very decompressing, calming. Love the effect. congrats!

Kevin, beautiful work...epitomizes the work of Willa Cather and her descriptions of storm over Nebraska...a fav...and recommended...

Great effect love the mod, congratulations!!

Beautiful work, love the color contrast!!! Congratulations on your sale!!!

very nice work!

Again, lots of successful use of negative and positive space creating interest and tension -- the brooding broad, black and blue clouds, vs. the cheerful bright sunlit foreground with figures and almost white areas of grass.

Very nice. Lots of drama and interest; makes you glad you were treated to this piece.

Beautiful composition. It invokes striking feelings within you. Quality of a good painting.

WOW! Such ominous drama! What a contrast in your use of values to tell your story! This piece is rather frightening with the approach of the storm and the run down shed offers no shelter from the approaching storm! This is story-telling with paint at it's best! I'm going to seek shelter now.

Artist's Description

The weather report would have you believe that a dangerous storm is approaching. These two characters know nothing of it and see it as an opportunity to cool off. The distant rice dryer emphasizes the vastness of the prairie. Original painting is beautifully framed in a hand-crafted frame made by the artist and is included in the asking price.

About Kevin Lawrence Leveque

Kevin Lawrence Leveque

In the sixties Kevin studied fine art under scholarship at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. After years of traveling abroad and in the U.S., Kevin Lawrence Leveque moved back to his lovely hometown, Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he "lives to paint". "I paint the poetic landscape where field meets stream, forest touches sky, and prairie runs to the ocean. Good people work their land and love their homes. The weather has many moods. Its power and beauty command our attention. Great storms and gentle rain help shape the land. Nature has a story to tell to those who will listen." "I find beauty in the most ordinary things and find magic in the often overlooked details. The world around me defines who I...
