Artist's Description
Painted in 1933. The painting depicts the beach near La Jolla in Southern California, likely during the early morning. Notice the two seagulls on the sand in the foreground. The colors in the water and foam are also particularly striking. This painting was originally purchased by the LDS Church Mission Home of Los Angeles, California in 1940. It is the largest of three California scenes that the mission obtained from Mr. Ramsey.
