Artist's Description
This painting was a new experience for me as an artist. I usually do portrait of people, and architectural type paintings. I have been doing quite a few large paintings for a local place of worship called "The Soul Barn." I believe six paintings are currently hanging on the walls. These are all based on stories from the Bible.The Soul Barn was originally a bible study group that met in an actual barn . They have moved to a newer building to accommodate the growing number of people who attend. The nice thing for me is that I am growing spiritually, and basically have a private gallery of these paintings.
I had to research the many paintings that have been done by famous artists. The painting that seemed to be the most well known was done by Paul Ruebens. I also liked some art done by Corbin Gauther and a painting by David Sommer's. I combined elements from both paintings and this is my version of Daniel In The Lions Den.

About Todd Spaur
Todd Spaur, lives in small rural town of Bussey Iowa. graduated Twin Cedars High School in 1980. Graduated with an AA Degree from Des Moines Area Comm. College in 1983. Has Worked in the sign business as a designer and sign painter for most of his carreer. Became disabled from a car accident in 1994. Has worked as a freelance artis since Mainly doing portraits of people from photographs. Main highlights of carreer were the portrait of President Obama, autographed original. Also was featured on the Today Show "American Story, Payback Painter" with Bob Dotson. This was on July 4th 2012, the story focused on a mural painted on a building in his hometown of Bussey, as a thank you to the town for helping him and his family after a horrible...
