Thanks Guys! I did this one as a conscious complex lighting challenge to myself - and learned a lot. It became the subject of a 3D lighting tutorial I did (www.Art-Head-Start.com).

I fell in love with this photo the day that Jan posted it. The cards are beautiful, frame able for a small space. I like that they have plenty of room for writing or doodling inside.

Artist's Description

A 2D rendering made from my virtual camera inside my 3D modeled scene.
The dawn sun illuminates Marda, as she waits under flood lights for her spacecraft to prepare itself for her dawn sortie.

Started this one to challenge myself with a very difficult lighting situation - a mix of sunlight and many artificial light sources, plus multiple shadows. The final version shown here uses 20 light sources, as well as many glowing materials (which do not project any light), such as the red and blue lighting stripes on the background wall.

Part of my series wherein I use my imaginary "Colony Sisters" to spur my imagination.
I created a tutorial for 3D artists on the lighting methods used here. You can review that at:
www.ArtHeadStart.com

Thanks for viewing :o)
