I used the Polaroid transfer method to capture this quirky Elvis Is Alive museum in Wright City, MO. Recently this museum was sold on Ebay. The building has been converted to a church and "Elvis'" hair has been painted blonde and he now hold a crucifix instead of a microphone. The king?
My current passion is an alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfers. Each transfer is hand-made by the photographer using specific materials and equipment to achieve a desired effect. A transparency is projected on to professional Polaroid print film and as development begins, the print and chemicals are prematurely separated. The image is transferred on to dampened watercolor paper for a unique image which has a dated, artistic photo-painting appearance. Exposure, pressure, time, paper and other variables make each print an original mono-print. Prints for sale in my Etsy shop too: http://www.etsy.com/shop/jalinde I am fascinated by the unpredictability of Polaroid transfers and I love the freedom of...

William, I talked to the owner and bought his book which claims that Elvis is alive. He was a real nut. The cafe was always getting written up by the health dept. for one violation or another. Eventually this place was sold on Ebay for $5,000 -ish . Now the place is some sort of churchy place. They painted Elvis' hair blonde (Jesus?) and put a cross in his hand. I love quirky places like this. If you are ever near the St. Louis area, check out the Black Madona Shrine near Eureka. Thanks for promoting and voting!

Jane, I love your processing, but I have to confess; I used to go to this place! It was creepy beyond description as I'm sure you know. I love your title. It is absolutely perfect. I really kind of miss the place because whenever we had out of town guests it was a place people would NEVER forget! I loved the gift shop with the B&W copier pictures of Elvis glued on, what? tool boxes, plastic cups, I can't remember all the junk. Don''t know if you ever talked with the owner but he was a believer. He also sold audio cassette tapes of rabid individuals going on with their "proof" that Elvis was still alive. Creepy! voted, favorite and promoted as my Daily Favorite in the CFC group.
