Artist's Description

Two stuffed animals found one poignant day travelling locally with my Mother, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's-like dementia. Their softness and character delighted and charmed us both. They took many lives of their own around our house, and our "zoo" grew as we discovered their ability to amuse and calm Mother, and to bring smiles to our hearts in difficult times. In part because I llove llamas, they came to represent the Seagarden Peace Project I invented during this time, a project to end world hunger through encouraging donations to Heifer International. They also became Donkey Joti and Dali Llama "tilting at windmills for peace" after I reunited with afriend from foreign exchange student days.
