I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

Electricity Hand / La Mano Poderosa explores the flow of creativity and electricity, through our neural pathways and the instruments we build to power our invented environment. Through our hands our ideas are manifested, from the practical to the religious. The skeletal structure of the central hand image is mirrored in opposing corners by the power line structures against the night sky and the great rocks of the ritual monument. Light, including the X-ray spectrum, scatters prisms of possible metaphors. The cut out pictures are entirely reworked and molded together with oil paint.
Animating my art are two desires: to illustrate myth- images that suggest dreams and stories from the collective stream of consciousness, and to keep an ambiguous familiarity with mortality, that mystifying and often terrifying essence of ourselves, where celebrating life and embracing the equal reality of death entwine. The mix of collage and oil paint is a way for me to assemble an idea out of disparate parts, partly expressed through its process. Collage is a process of collision and re-creation. I appreciate rough, cut edges, the feel of different papers, the build-up of oil paint strokes and ridges. Photos in our media and daily life are an integral part of how we communicate information, ideas, and emotions. Incorporated into...
