End of consumerism. Conceptual image of a hangman's noose dangling from a bar code. The noose represents the end of the commercial consumerism represented by the bar code. Barcodes are a series of printed lines of varying thickness. Each line corresponds to a number. When read using a barcode scanner, or manually typed out, the number is used to identify a product.
