I made a still life painting of a wonderfully complex assortment of florals and greenery at the end of our Minnesota summer. I had gathered together and used a potted ceramic vase to contain all. The path of light is set off by a new dark background made of watermedia. It makes the blooms and textures pop against this value change of darkness.
