First mid-air refuelling. Two Airco DH-4B biplanes refuelling during flight on 27th June 1923, over Rockwell Field, California, USA. The receiving aeroplane (bottom) stayed aloft for more than 37 hours taking nine refuellings from two tanker aircraft.
