I came across this one while browsing through your magnifient work Robert. The old freight wagon caught my attention because old country "stuff" is appealing to me. This picture is outstanding in every way possible. The presentation is perfect!

Artist's Description

They are among the last visible icons of a dramatic bygone era. They stocked the shelves of America's early merchants and traders, kept communication flowing into many of the most remote reaches of the frontier, and helped open the West with the new-found wealth of the nation. These were the Freight Wagons. Built for a single profit-driven purpose, they were designed to take a literal beating while carrying massive amounts of goods, supplies, equipment and raw ore. But, creating these designs was just the first step in a long line of business logistics and challenges. Before the goods and raw materials could arrive at their destinations, they had to overcome the demands of poor and non-existing roads. Even considering all of the frustrations involved with delivering goods on an international scale today, nothing comes close to the adversity that met Americas early western freighting industry. About Robert Bales

Robert Bales

I am a retired teacher, coach and athletic director. While my wife, Judy, and I were teaching she had a photo studio, and I had a dark room where I did black and white and color. Some was for the studio while most of it was just a hobby. When we retired in 2000, we sold our house in Eastern Washington and moved onto our boat, Last Class, and our motorhome. We sold Last Class a few years ago and bought a small house in Yuma, Arizona and this year bought one in Emmett Idaho. Now we spend the summers in Emmett and the winters in Yuma. Over our 50 years of marriage, we have always had an interest in photography and still do. You may order any unframed photo from this website. Just email me at hay5bales@yahoo.com the name of the photo...
