Description
The Salar de Uyuni in south west Bolivia is the world's largest salt flat, covering 10,582 square km / 4,086 square miles. The huge cacti found on islands such as Incahuasi Island in the middle of the in the Salar are Echinopsis atacamensis (pasacana subspecies), which grow in Bolivia and northern Argentina. The peak on the horizon is the Tunupa volcano (5320m / 17,460ft), which dominates views across to the northern shore of the Salar.
