Artist's Description
The golden poison dart frog is considered one of the most toxic animals on Earth. A single specimen measuring two inches (five centimeters) has enough venom to kill ten grown men. Indigenous Embers people of Colombia have used its powerful venom for centuries to tip their blowgun darts when hunting, hence the species' name.
About JC Findley
A little about me: I was raised a military brat and lived all around the US growing up. I went to Auburn University then joined the Air Force upon graduation. In the Air Force I flew B-1B bombers, T-37 and T-38 trainers, KC-135s and taught counter terrorism CQC defensive tactics for aircrews. I retired from the Air National Guard after 21 years of service. All of Midwest's flight-crews were outsourced in 2008 and now I make my living selling art and various other jobs in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Things like this always remind me that God has a sense of humor. How crazy is it that a tiny little thing like that can kill a man? I find it interesting that nature warns of what is most dangerous but making them so brightly colored. Cool shot!
