Artist's Description

PRIVATE COLLECTION. I painted this from very old photos and added color to liven up this lovely lady. Adora Jordan West Clark (1852-1919), decended from Georgia's earliest Methodist families, was a Renaissance woman who lived life! Adora was born into a priviledged Southern life. She lived as a child through the Civil War, and knew poverty and hardship thoroughout her adult life. Her husband, the love of her life, died in his mid thirties from malaria. She was pregnant at the time with her youngest child She raised each of her eight children to be independent, educated adults. She never lost her faith, her courage, Her lifelong motto, "We reap what we sow." A no-nonsense, straight to the point women who knew no race or religion boundaries, Adora loved her family and the beauty of nature . She was a beautiful writer who wrote her own story; she left a mighty legacy for each of her many decendents.

Patricia is a U.S. citizen who lived, traveled, and studied in Japan, Europe, and the Middle East at different times in her life. Currently she is...
