About James Clewell
Jim Clewell has been making his living as an artist since the age of 18. He is mainly self-taught having shown exceptional talent even as a young child. His formal training was at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA. Jim's art experience is quite varied. In 1972 he supported himself while on a six-month tour of Europe entirely through the sale of his drawings while there. It was this experience that helped him decide to make his art his occupation. He used his skills in realism when he took his first full-time job as a sign painter painting huge murals on billboards. He soon rose to Journeyman Painter and designer for a large outdoor advertising company. His days off were spent creating commissioned art works and teaching private...
