This painting created by Mary in the 1970's is self-explanatory. One of her loved subjects, Jesus, caught in the act of his miracles. Matthew8 "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

About Mary Spyridon Thompson

Mary Spyridon Thompson

Mary was born March 7, 1922 and died September 2, 2010. She started painting in her very early 40's and painted until her death from pancreatitis at the age of 88. In the early 1970's she was president of the Suburban Art League in Woodbury, NY. Her work has been exhibited in Soho and Lincoln Center in New York City. She also had her art exhibited on eastern Long Island in the Hamptons and various Greenport galleries. She was a teacher of fine art and owned an art gallery called Royal Gallery of Art located in Farmingdale, New York. She also taught fine art at SUNY Farmingdale College in New York.
