I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

The head of Constantine is yet another part of the Colossus of Constantine, which was a colossal statue of the late Roman emperor Constantine the Great (c. 280-337) that once occupied the west apse of the Basilica of Maxentius near the Forum in Rome. Portions of the Colossus now reside in the Courtyard of the Palazzo dei Conservatori of the Musei Capitolini, on the Capitoline Hill, above the west end of the Forum. The head, arms and legs of the colosseus were carved from white marble, while the rest of the body consisted of a brick core and wooden framework, possibly covered with gilded bronze. It is thought the seated, enthroned figures would have been about 40 feet high. The head was carved in a more abstract style while the other body parts are more naturalistic, right down to the calllused toes. The statue was later pillaged, likely for the bronze portions. The marble portions were brought to light in 1487 and the surviving remnants were brought to the Palazzo dei Conservatori cour...
Protected with PIXSY About Joan Carroll: I am a Fort Worth Texas-based outdoor photographer who feels at home while on the road...in Texas, in the US, around the world. Although travel and photography were dual interests from a young age, the coming of the digital camera provided undreamed of opportunities and unleashed previously untapped creativity. My photographic goal is to travel the world in a curious yet respectful way, taking the time to see and understand the unique story of each place I visit. Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...
