Hello world is based on a mountain region in an old Moorish town in Spain called Mojacar.
A native of Hamburg, Germany, Karin Batten holds degrees in fine at from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London) and Hunter College (New York), and studied with prominent artists including Henry Moore and Robert Morris. She has exhibited with June Kelly Gallery since 1988, and is the recipient of a number of grants and residencies. From 2016 to 2019 she was appointed Director of the Westbeth Gallery in New York City. Her work is in a number of important permanent collections, including those of the U.S. Embassy in Swaziland, the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and the University of Maryland.
