The Horton Bay General Store.
The Horton Bay General Store is located in Northern Michigan and is located on the Boyne City/Charlevoix Road in the village of Horton Bay. The village is so small that most people might not even know that they are in a village as the population of Horton Bay is a big 38 living souls.
The General Store however is an American Historical Landmark and is known as a place that Ernest Hemmingway spent time during his earlier years.
He was married at the now demolished Methodist Church that was next to the General Store.
Horton Bay would figure into three of Hemmingway's short stories including, Up In Michigan, The end of Something, and The Three Day Blow.
