Description
During a painting trip to the Tarcombe area of Victoria I met this chap working sheep in his stockyards. It was a very hot day and the intense Australian light was reflecting the red dirt of the yards onto the khaki shirt. The colours in the shirt and battered terry towelling hat intrigued me, particularly the shadow colours. I was very happy with the resulting painting, and so was he he bought it when he saw it displayed in a local art show!

Great portrait Lynda, can almost feel the heat on his skin. Wonderful treatment of light and shadows

Very nice, indeed! Like the way you showed the hair on his arm, for example. Enjoyed the story, as well.

Fabulous portrait! I love the colors. You even indicated the hair on his arm in a convincing way without overdoing the details. Nice energy. f/v
