This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

Bodie State Historic Park, located in the eastern Sierra mountain range, is perhaps the most loved and photographed ghost town in the United States. Bodie got its birth as a mining camp after gold was discovered in 1859. This infamous gold mining town was noted for far more than its modest gold amounts in the hills. It was a rough and tumble western town with very low morals, lots of gambling, drinking and prostitution. As word spread regarding the find in 1876 of gold bearing ore by the Standard Company, this small gold town boomed and the population swelled to between 6,000 - 7,000 people and more than 2,000 buildings were erected to serve the expanding population. As history notes, Bodie fell prey to the residents moving on to other motherlodes in the neighboring areas of California and Nevada leaving a population of 698 in 1910. The mine closed in 1913 only to reopen briefly for another 3 years. Finally in 1915 Bodie...
About Sandra Bronstein
Sandra Bronstein finds great pleasure in sharing the beauty of the natural world and its magnificent wildlife as seen through her lenses for over 40 years. Her vision provides a window into the ever changing world and, simply put, Sandra has captured and shares with us a simple moment in time. Sandra was raised and continues to reside in large metropolitan cities but has always had a love of nature and wilderness. It was due, in part, to family travels and being an "outdoor" girl which kept her love strong for wildlife and the environment. That love and respect shows in each...

This image just exudes warmth and a little sadness. Like an old man that is enjoying life but knows his time is limited. He accepts it but is still a little sad.
