Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

I wanted a photo that showed what a beast these things are, and this one really shows it.

I like vultures, and this photo really catches this one in flight.

Perfect! I wish that you'd included a translation of the two inscriptions in some ancient language that are above the shoulders of St John Coltrane. It would cost your company virtually nothing to supply this with the picture.

About Michel Verhoef
Photography is a way of expression for me. This was especially when I discovered digital photography and the possibility of being in control of the whole process, from pressing the shutter to printing. Than i also discovered that photography is more than just pressing the shutter; it also shows ones own, more personal, view on the world. There are so many stories that can be told in one image, and to me the best stories are just out there on the street, just waiting to be captured. In my photography I want to strive for a personal style, preferably more than a signature….but a permanent memory of the image in the viewers mind :) My gear: Nikon COPYRIGHT NOTICE © All images in this gallery are the original...

How can you enjoy an ice cream cone when mother is upset about a few dribbles on your coat? Your photos always tell an interesting story, and a whole dialogue too!
Michel Verhoef replied:
Good question Ann !! I think she must have survived her mother...I hope :))
Carl Purcell

ANA MUNOZ
You've captured her in the exact moment in that she probably was questioning herself why adults always want children do different things than themselves :))) LOL. Her expression is a poem that explains the whole story and once again I admire your ability to perfectly frame a very dynamic scene like this one. The angle is perfect!
Mary Machare
Love the capture with the expression of consternation and the muted, yet rich colors. Beautifully done, Michel. LF and FB
Michel Verhoef replied:
Thanks Mary for your amazing support ! Always :)

I am really sure these are the sticks and stones we all have to go and to recognize one day that we are not living in paradise...! Her facial expression is fantastic! Reality of growing up!
Michel Verhoef replied:
Ha..her face has such an antique feel to it...like a Christkindl :))) thank you !
Sandy Tolman
Fantastic! What a universally true image! Excellent shot - how did you captuer it without looking over her shoulder??!!!! I would be dismayed as well! What an impatient and quietly stormy expression!
Michel Verhoef replied:
Thanks dear Sandy for your scene description and interpretations is very lovely ! I can remember walking by her and she must have been kneeling while cleaning her, otherwise I could never have reached so far over her shoulder...thank you for your words as ever :)
Sandy Tolman
Stunning! Look at howit is cold out - per the sweaters and winter jackets - and yet the sweet iced treat is melting . . .the angle of her mother or nanny's head, her hands as she blots up the spill - the hand holding this suddenly not-so-innocent goodeness where drips fall away from clothing and carriage - glorious hair -- and oh - her expression, the child almost a quiet storm in her confusion and discomfort - staring at what is causing all this mess. Marvelous - if you had captured the image 5 mintues before, she may have been smiling - no impatience, nothing but sugar and sunshine, but things do melt . . .and joy has melted to dismay and sticky fingers. The crispness of the cone and napkin and coat and stroller/carriage as opposed to the street below is excellent - also the expressions captured and the tones - bright, but cool. The angle of the lady's glasses, little girl's eyes and coat clad arm holdint the cone and the lady's hands blotting the mess form neat parallels. v/f . ..

Thanks Danielle....i had almost forgotten about this image. Maybe I will matt it than...lol..

Those ice cream cones will drip on you every time. This little lady looks like she is made at the cone...but probably more impatient with mom for messing with her while she is intent on eating her treat. Great capture as always V
Veronica Coulston

Oh this is a scene that has been repeated a million times, hey, Michel? Yep. Just let me eat the darn thing, she says! Just wait til I get it off the nice jacket you got from aunt May, SHE says! I love your street photos, Michel, because each and every one is a small slice of life and is who we are! Bless you for your amazing eye! V/F

Wow....sooo well seen Darla...great mind jump to adult life ! It makes your words even more precious :)
Darla Wood
Yes...I see it as the ice-cream being so delicious she does not want to wait for her mother to secure her into the stroller....I suppose this trait of impatience carries into our adult life as well when there is a pleasure that is interrupted! Michel, as with all your work...the composition is excellent...I am also taken up with the colors and tones....just wonderful! My CAT pick for MOUSE group!
