Great! Beautiful
My father (William E Loft) was a wonderful photographer. Unfortunately the majority of his work has been lost, destroyed or damaged. I have been working on a digital "rescue" of the photos I still have.
This photo of children displaying a dead buzzard ("urubu" in Brazil) was taken in the Brazilian state of Para' some miles from Belem. The children were the beginning of an orphanage organized by my parents.

I see art as not only creation, but also (and maybe primarily) as discovery. For the most part I do collage work and photography, but also enjoy pen and marker drawing, some occasional painting as well as more three dimensional work such as making baskets, dolls, and other objects. As you will see if you wander through my galleries, I have a very wide range of interests. Check out my Artist of the Day feature in Today's Visions.com, curated and written by Mark Myhaver. http://galleries.todaysvisions.com/2014/08/13/todays-featured-artist-sarah-loft/ Some of my artwork appears on products sold at Zazzle. Sarah -- terrific story (your response to Colleen) -- Amazing emotions come through this photo. 1 -sexy pose (5th from right); 2- maternal instincts (7,9 from right); beautiful, happy girl (2nd from left); and shy, lonely boy (3rd from left) (he needs a hug). And, of course the thought "where are they now? Sounds like W.E. had a life "well spent." L/F
W E Loft replied:
Thank you, Bill! You really studied the picture. I can't say what became of most of these people. I was only about 2 when this picture was taken. But, oddly enough, I'm in touch with quite a few of my childhood friends in Brazil due to the amazing modern media-- we find each other on Facebook. Most I haven't seen since my early teens or even younger... and most of them are grandparents now (as am I) so catching up becomes an interesting exercise in explaining what we did in the fifty or sixty years since we last saw each other.
