Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
This painting is of a Humpback Whale's Tail, just as he disappears into the choppy seas of his ocean home. This "last glimpse" - almost unseen -around the surge of waves, of this enormous whale as he descends so smoothly away from view, almost appears surreal....as if this tail was not attached to anything....that is how gracefully these huge Humpback Whales dive. I wanted to paint this last fleeting glimpse "caught in time".

I was born in Denmark, and have lived all over Canada before settling in Victoria BC..where I pursued my art career full time since 1994. Although painting since my teens, I returned to school to continue my "love of the arts" taking - Fiber Arts, Ceramics, and Graphic Art programs. I started my career in Oils and Acrylics, but fell in love with Watercolors, after studying with numerous well-known Watercolor Artists from Canada and the USA . I am drawn to the way light travels through the papers with watercolor and the soft color changes when layering or glazing many colors over one another.
