Artist's Description

These are four of 12 peaces which cannot be separated. The first panel is the clear pure alpine Iris River that flows from Cradle Mountain until it reaches the Lee River. Untouched from industrial contamination it is suffering stress from global warming and human visiters to the National parks. I have collected fragments of plants, fusing them into the glass causing an impression in the glass. like a fossil imprint. The second panel is the Lee River meeting the Iris River. It has ferns and newspaper in the glass as Forest industries have taken over the landscape from the mountain to the sea. The third panel is the Wilmot river, darker now and more contaminated with newspaper and forest remnants and the glass is moving more rapidly only after a huge rainfall as it is stopped by a dam wall most of the year. The forth panel is the Casuarina understory, like the Wattle it is also a legume and a species that gets sacrificed when the land is clear felled. It is an amazing plant, providin...
