This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?
Artist's Description
Yes, I met Janis Joplin in 1967 on New Years Eve. Check below on the comments for more of the story. I like to try to sing like her too, it's fun. Not very many people know the whole story about Janis. If you've never read Buried Alive, her autobiography, you've really missed out. She was an amazing women. A bit mixed up perhaps, but living in a world of nearly all male musicians and in the 60s women were not treated as well as they are today. Hail to you Janis. You're my gal. Always will be. Not many knew you were a Christian and love the Lord Jesus, but I do. And He loves you too. Windy Mountain

Thanks G Cuffia. Much appreciated. :)

You've captured that moment well. My sister saw her in Germany. Thanks for your comments.

Thank you Holly. This was my first detailed pencil drawing. I met her in 1967 New Years Eve between sets at the Fillmore West Auditorium. She was bigger than life but seemed shy and depressed before we spoke. I have not done very many pencil drawings this detailed since because I am such a perfectionist and couldn't get the nose quite right. But thanks. Love and Peace, Windy

Thank you Ken Day and Jonathan for commenting on this piece. Appreciated.

Thanks so much. I was surprised it came out so well. Have to take some time and try some more similar portraits. It's the first and only one I've ever done in this style. Comments like yours E. Giupponi, make me want to keep on keeping on.

At some point I'm going to try to get permission to record some. I love the song, "What Good Can Drinkin' Do" recorded in 1962 on reel to reel in a living room in Texas. She was a drinker by by the conflicted song knew it wasn't going anywhere. See if you can find it. You can like her on Facebook and get updates all the time. Have you read Buried Alive. A great read and the real truth about what happened except the end of the story which I happen to know more about since my california connections way back when. Thanks for comment Jonathan. Love your art.
