I painted this picture outdoors all by myself on a crisp fall day. I rarely paint by myself because I am a big chicken. I know that I loose myself in my work so completely that I am oblivious to my surroundings. You could steal my car probably and I wouldn�t notice. Can you blame me! Staring for hours at the details of this old barn, the texture of the dried hay field, the weeds along the fence, hurrying to capture it all before my fingers and paints froze was a full time occupation and takes my full attention

I began working as an artist at the age of two. Unable to resist the siren's call of a large canvas. The newly papered dining room was just screaming for a rainbow band of color about three feet up the wall. So I opened my box of crayons, pressed their tips firmly against the unblemished wallpaper and ran around the room as fast as I could, as many times as I could. I sensed that my work may not be appreciated. It wasn't. But it looked great! It took some time before my parents recognized my talent but I kept working with every medium available.
