July 9 2012-5 metal print by Gustavo Ramirez. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description
The July 9, 2012 Series was approached in an automatism technique I use frequently in drawing and in painting. I taped all five 18 x 24" water color papers in a row at about eye-level. I started from the 1st paper(from left) making random long 1/2 inch rounded brush strokes of thick black ink with circles. I numbered the sheets on the bottom left corner to keep them in order in case some fall due to aggressive brush work. I then started shadowing the black brush strokes with the same 1/2 inch rounded brush dipped in gray acrylic and tempera mix . After, in layers, I added the different colors( gold, brown, sky blue, yellow and red) in order from left to right with each different color. In between the layers of color I used red and black oil paint stick strokes like in an incoherent writing form.
I then laid all the sheets on the floor to air dry for a while the with a bottle of black acrylic paint I started dripping and pouring the paint on the sheets in long lines again from left...
