I had held off purchasing any Super Bowl LVIII collectibles or memorabilia until I found something that I thought was just “awesome”. When I saw this SI Cover, I knew I had to have it. Honestly it’s one of the best photos I’ve ever seen. Along with the captions it captures what Super Bowl LVIII was all about. Your Photog was in the right place at the right time and did a great job of capturing what Chiefs fans all across the country felt at that moment. As you can see I had the perfect place for it, it makes this wall complete and up to date.

Artist's Description

This photo, taken on location in Perryville, Kentucky in 2012, is of the historic Karrick-Parks House, which was built in the 1800's by Squire Roberts. In 1856, the house was purchased by James Vance Karrick. Four years after puchasing the home, Mr. Karrick passed away, leaving behind his wife, Harriet, and their eight children. Mrs. Karrick and her children remained living in the home even through the 1862 Civil War Battle of Perryville. During that battle, the house had served as quarters for Confederate officers. The Confederates advised the Karrick family to leave town for their own safety for which the family took their valuables and their slaves with them and left. When the Karrick family returned after the battle, they'd discovered that nothing was taken by the Confederates except many clothing items for which they'd used as bandages for the war casualties. For six months after the battle, the Karrick-Parks house was shared with Union officers and doctors. In 1899, Rebecca...

About Thia Stover

Thia Stover

My name is Thia. I'm a self-taught photographer who enjoys expressing realism and impressionism in her photographic work. It was in 2005 that Id picked up the camera "as a hobby" for the first time. But it wasnt until 2006, while photographing the Civil War Battle of Perryville [Kentucky] reenactment, that Id finally found my niche in photography, i.e. capturing images of American historical sites and reenactments. My love for America and her rich history has contributed greatly towards this endeavor. It is my hope that my work would capture the imagination of the viewer and inspire him/her to reflect on America's history and the cost of freedom. Other photographs I've taken include portraits of people, animals (including...
