About Arturo Vilmenay

Arturo Vilmenay

Arturo Vilmenay is a self taught contemporay artist living in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where he works daily in his studio up in the mountains by the countryside. The passion he feels for life and art can be seen vividly on his canvas full of color. Studying nature and experimenting with color theory allows him to create beautiful effects of light and shadow in his works. After graduating from José Gautier Benitez High School in 1974 in Caguas, Vilmenay moves to N.Y. where he starts working as an illustrator for various ad agencies. Attending art seminars and frequent visits to the museums is where Arturo gets much of his artistic knowledge experimenting with oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastel, pencil drawings, serigraphy, sculpture and...
