Another amazing work of art from you dear Anne... ;-) FV

Thank you dear NICK. Glad you like this. I sold it to a lady who commissioned it (I used a pic of her bird for reference. Good deal. I made 200. Smiles.

Anne, I love all the colors and sweet feel of this parrot, she reminds me of mine... I love it!

Dawn, thank you so much!! I need to catch up on my replies. Blessings to YOU.

This is a wonderful painting, I love the bright bird set against the black background, it really stands out beautifully. vf

This is wonderful...love the colors.

Bruce, I have a tendency to use highly sophomoric terms. This is in contrast with my genius mentality. LOL. I''m just a good ole' Southern gal. I really mean "in actuality" or something to that effect.

I mean to say in "real life." I've been at a loss for a simple way to say something like. . ."when you see the painting itself. . . ." So have non-artists. "Real life" seems to be the common expression. When appropriate to the sentence I also say. . ."When you ACTUALLY see. . . ."

Great (again), Anne-Elizabeth! What a variety of painting styles you command! I'd much rather meet your painting than that bird!

Muchas Gracias! I enjoyed painting this.

Hi Anne-E...I stopped by your beautiful gallery to gaze at all of your wonderful works....it really inspires me ....have a nice day...ted

Thank you Gary for your poetic remarks about the bird. Glad u like. The bird is the word. :-) Remember that song? I llaugh just thinking about it. As youknow, I need to post a better picture. This one is from the top instead of centered. And another thing, I don't want you to see my junky garage in the background. (smile) Ben, thank you too all the way to S.C.,

Some birds chirp, whistle, warble, or squalk but this little gem speaks my language. At first I thought its chrome head was reflecting some unseen horizon but then your engaging description enlightened me.

love this bird, beautiful colors

OOPS! The young lady's name is not Melissa. So I stand corrected. My apologies to Melinda. Melinda, Melinda, Melinda- Perhaps you will forgive me :/) Your friend, Anne

Artist's Description

This is called an Amazon Red because of the red spot The angle of the photo is from above.. The tail would look longer otherwise. A young lady in Newport News, VA commisioned me to paint this from photos of her pet : Lacey Jewel. When we delivered the work I met the bird in person in Melinda's front yard. She carried the bird untethered upon her shoulder.. Sweetest bird! She would pick at Melinda's stud earrings & take them out. I am talking about the bird doing this! Then Melinda held her palm up near the bird's mouth, Lacey Jewel gently let the earrings fall into Melinda's hand. Lacey Jewel never tried to swallow the earrings. This was a trick that Lacey Jewel did to entertain us. (this pic was taken before I finished the painting.) I made the bird's tail longer. When I find a better example I will post it. :->
