Anne, I cannot thank you enough for your kind words and coming from such an accomplished artist I am honored.

I am back now to vote for this marvelous painting! You certainly did invoke Renoir.... in a modern world.

This is magnificent, Michael. As always, I can never decide which paintings in your gallery to comment on because I so like them all. The focus you've created in this one is perfect......things become less detailed as my eye travels to the background. I wish you a happy and creative 2016! like/f

Thanks so much, Hartmut and Jane, for your absolutely wonderful comments on this painting!

Artist's Description

This is work is called "Lunch at the Old Biscuit Mill" in Woodstock, an old area in Cape Town, South Africa. On weekends, people gather to buy vegetables, flowers, pastries, meat, olives, wine and beer, and of course to chat and have lunch. I wanted to show the families having lunch as Renoir would have pictured them.
