This is very nice painting of the Masai's, it brings back so many great memories of when I lived in East Africa.

Artist's Description

This is a painting of a young Maasai woman daydreaming about her Moran warrior. She is wearing the traditional leather and bead circular necklace of the tribe. The Maasai believe that all cattle in the world belong to them, even if they are temporarily in the custody of other people, so I included a couple of cattle heads to the composition. This piece is 8" x 10" and is painted in oil, encaustic, and 23kt gold leaf on an archival gesso panel. Prints available.

I also have two horses, a dog and a cat. If I could have my way I would also have a donkey and a goat. (My husband has wisely put his foot down.) I am originally from Zimbabwe. I am exploring incorporating African themes in my paintings, as it seems the older I get the more I am drawn to look more closely at my roots. In addition to my...
