This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?

Artist's Description
This is a closer view of one of my Father's paintings.
It can be seen on FAA also.
It is called Mabry Mill.
Dad painted with oils on canvas.
Although I would not sell his original painting, I think he would be proud of me for selling copies.
I know that he is happy that I am showing his art to the world.
He was a modest man and did not boast or brag about his talents.
He just painted. I am fortunate that he was my Dad, in more ways than one.
He was a good man.

Hi Anne - Elizabeth, like your mill painting very much. Great job. Is the mill at the Shenandoah Parkway? Christiane
Jerry Hanks
I spent countless hours and days at this spot and all around the wonderful mountains. I grew up close enough to drive up at any time to enjoy the peace of the Blue Ridge Drive which my father helped build with the CCC. Did you know that those mountains were mostly bare and farmland when the parkway was conceived?

Gorgeous work Anne! Your father was indeed a master!
Margie Avellino
Hi, Anne-elizabeth, I really like your new piece of work, I love how you've captured the rustic texture of the mill, beautifully done!

Thank you Bruce and all. BRUCE, the complete painting is on the top of this page. The mill is still operating and there is a scenic area around there to walk and view other old-fashioned and beautiful sights. There is a wonderful restaurant on the property which serves pancakes made from wheat from the very same milll. Of course they serve a variety of choices from their menu there as well. There used to be *maybe still is, a blacksmith shop with the blacksmith working. We would stop and chat with him. He had many good stories to tell. They called him "Festus". I don't know what his real name was. There was a place on the location where they had a mule pulling a big board around and around. They were making sorghum (sp.) molasses outside in a big container. The mule was doing the "stirring." I have been there with my Mom & Dad, brother and others many times. There is a gift shop too. Many thanks. Anne

Dear Anne-Elizabeth, again. After watching the painting some more, I wanted to ask if the mill is still there. Thank you for telling us where it was, and could we see the whole painting of which this is a detail? Peace, etc., Bruce
Bruce Combs - REACH BEYOND
Dear Anne-Elizabeth, Thanks a heap of pre-2000 dollars for showing this to us and saving if for posterity! It is gorgeous and deliteful for me. The subject, the water reflection, the overall mood. What a wonderful piece for most any room in a home. I have appreciated the paintings of your fathers that you have posted for us before, but I think that this is my favorite. No wonder that you have such talent in many ways -- did you play piano for him? Peace, etc. as always, Bruce
