Larry Richardson

Larry Richardson received a full Scholarship to the California college of Arts and Crafts. His fascination for the large figurative works of Afro-American artist at the time carries over in his work today. After returning from military service in the Far East he continued his studies at CCAC. It was during this time that the nation was in a struggle for civil rights and he felt his energy and creativity would be better utilized in the civil rights movement. He traveled through the south for six months and concluded his work in the movement with the march on Washington having the honor to be present during the historical "I Have a Dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King. His work at the present time uses the figurative form and color to...
